YUT CHRONICLES

Welcome to the first blog for Sarn't Yut. This is more of stories, advice, leadership knowledge and more. By more I will be referring to tips and tricks on how to skate and be good leaders at the same time (Yes, it's possible because I'm one of many skaters). Take it how you see fit. Obviously, we will start from the beginning (it's okay because I'm talking about the "Recruiter's Office").
As a young adult at 18yrs old, I didn't know much about life, nor did I think there was much to it. I do come from a foreign country but not your "Jajaja" type of foreign. Anyways, as I was wondering ways to make it to America, I went to different branches aside from the Marine Corps (Like many of you, school was not for me). Honestly, I didn't even know what the Marine Corps was, it sounds stupid but the only thing that came to my head was "Marine Wildlife". Fast forward let's just say the recruiter found me which was odd since we happened to be distant relatives.
As I sat there and the Recruiter's doing her bare minimum effort to sell me a dream (which I was already sold with the idea of "Yeah Bootcamp is in San Diego"), I was in shock because I couldn't believe I was actually joining the military. Unlike most, I didn't have a special reason why I joined besides wanting to come to America (The Land of Opportunities). For many it was the benefits, or for school, maybe a need to answer the call from a long lineage (for my ASVAB Waivers, this word means Family Tree) of military or just in need of a different lifestyle that revolved around structure, you know what I mean. At the time, all I wanted to do was leave home whether or not I understood what I was getting myself into so, I did just that.
